The importance of CBSE Class 12 Examinations or more commonly referred to as the “12th Board” Examinations is very high; it is equivalent to the importance of the examination itself. CBSE the Central Board of Secondary Education will announce the Class 12th result in around the 4th week of May, this year. Students and others concerned should know that the result of class 12 will be declared through online only and hence, one does not require to seek this result offline. CBSE, New Delhi is the body responsible for organizing the class 12 examination for various regions in India. CBSE 12th result 2016 was announced last year on 27th May 2016; and will be announced on a similar date this year as well! More than 10 lakh students appeared for CBSE class 12th exams in all regions.


CBSE released a notification with the much-awaited timetable for Class 12 examinations.As per the timetable, the examination will commence from 5th Match and will go on until 13th April. The first major examination will be that of English on 5th March. Students have been waiting with bated breath for an update about the important examination; and can now get some relief and start planning their academic schedules accordingly!


CBSE Class 12 Result:


CBSE Class 12th result provides marks scored subject-wise marks by candidates in the CBSE All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE). The result is declared for all subjects including the academic, vocation, elective subjects; the theory and practical marks are segregated and announced. Additionally, CBSE will also announce Class 12th Board exam results for 10 areas i.e. Thiruvananthapuram, Patna, Panchkula, Guwahati, Delhi, Dehradun, Chennai, Bhubaneswar, Allahabad and Ajmer. More than 10,50,000 candidates are expected to write the CBSE exam this year.  This result is the most important qualification in school since it is the gateway to get admission in reputed colleges and universities depending on the marks scored by a child.

2017 saw approximately 11 lakh candidates sit for the Class 12 Board examination which included 6,38,865 boys and 4,60,026 girls. There were 3502 and 10678 centers and schools that  registered for this examination. Raksha Goyal from Amity International School, Noida topped last year with an average of 99.6% whereas Bhumi Sawant from Chandigarh came second and scored 99.4%.

CBSE Class 12th Result,  2018 – Important Dates

How to check CBSE 12th Result 2018?

The CBSE Class 12 Examination result will be released on the official CBSE Website.  Candidates should follow the steps listed below if they want to check their result with utmost convenience follow the below steps to check their CBSE class 12th result 2018.

  • Firstly, go to the CBSE official website.
  • Then, input your details including your CBSE Class XII board roll number, school number and test centre number (All the details will be mentioned on your Admit Card)
  • Select the ‘Submit’ option
  • Once the request goes through, you can see that CBSE Board 12th class result will be displayed on your computer screen.
  • You should download it and take the printout of your result; keep it in safe place for future purpose.

How are grades provided by the CBSE Board?

The table to convert the percentage into grade according to CBSE’s grading system is given below:

How to calculate Grade?

Candidates have the option to calculate the total CGPA on their own by following the steps given below:

To calculate percentage in one subject = Grade Point X 9.5

For instance, in case you scored 9 CGPA in a subject, your marks in percentage for that particular subject would be = 9*9.5 = 85.5%

How to calculate the overall percentage?

Then, candidates can also calculate their overall percentage using their CGPA Grade point of all the subjects

To Calculate overall percentage = CGPA X 9.5

For instance, if you score for subjects = 8, 9, 9, 10, 8, then your total CGPA would be an average of all these grade points i.e. 8+9+9+10+9 = 45 which further divided by 5 i.e. 9. In this case, your overall percentage would be 9*9.5 = 85.5%.
